I'm guessing that this might be because the fonts are CFF OpenType, rather than TTF, and
there may be assumptions in software that prevent display of Plane 1 characters in CFF
fonts. It wouldn't be the first time that software has, presumably inadvertantly,
handicapped CFF fonts. It took a long time for some developers to get past the Postscript
font = 8bit assumption.
