Regarding the following comment:
>>>It is still one man's attempt at Tuareg orthographic reform. I read
>>>through the proposal and, despite the references, it is very much
>>>a personal project
>>>
I supplied my proposal informally on the assumption that my ideas would
be considered on their merits, without claiming to be an academic. The
references are just that, so that others can follow my reasoning, not
to make it seem that I am part of an institutional effort. As I have
explained, my suggestions for Tifinagh do not concern orthographic reform,
only Unicode representation.
The Tifinagh world was very fragmented and the IRCAM set was a major
step forward after years of committee work. It is still difficult to
gain a good overview across regions, language varieties, historical
changes and orthographic detail, and I hope I am contributing to that.
