Prior Versions of Unibook

This page contains prior versions of the Unibook Character browser. These prior versions are primarily intended for users that run an older version of Windows and discover that a newer version of Unibook does not run on their system.

While they will run, they provide less functionality than a more up-to-date version and the data files associated with them no longer reflect the state of the Unicode Character Database.

The latest version of the Unibook utility is available free of charge for downloading here.

Data Files

The data files accompanying any of these prior versions match those of the corresponding earlier version of the Unicode Standard. Some of the files have been renamed or compacted for size. The latest and complete versions of the data files are found in the Unicode Character Database. You may be able to manually replace these older files by more recent ones. However prior versions of Unibook cannot read all property data for recently defined properties, thus requiring some edits to remove data that cannot be parsed.

Installation Notes

After downloading the selected version, please expand the zip file to a clean folder and follow the instructions in the readme.txt file.
