HTML 4.0
HTML 4.0, the latest version of the Hypertext Markup Language used to create World Wide Web pages, is based on Unicode. In technical terms, the document character set of HTML 4.0 is Unicode. This important new version of HTML, created by the HTML Working Group (WG) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), was issued as a W3C Recommendation in December 1997. The W3C HTML WG included individuals from many of the companies whose staff are presenting papers or tutorials at the Twelfth International Unicode Conference. Indeed, some of the Conference speakers were members of the HTML WG. To learn more about HTML 4.0 and related Internet standards, come to the Unicode Conference and also visit the W3C Web site.
