Erdenechimeg Myatav - United Nations University International Institue for Software TechnologyErdenechimeg Myatav has been working on a wide range of topics relating to the computerisation of the Mongolian language since 1990. She began this work at the National University of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar, where she developed encoding systems for both traditional Mongolian script and Mongolian Cyrillic letters. Following this, she worked on the design and implementation of the software for the "SUDAR" Mongolian word processing system, of which these encoding schemes formed the basis, and on software for translating between traditional Mongolian script and the Mongolian Cyrillic script. In 1995 she moved to the United Nations University International Institue for Software Technology (UNU/IIST) in Macau, where she has been working on the "MultiScript" system, a generalisation of SUDAR to multi-lingual documents with multi-directional text. She has also been closely involved with the development of the ISO/Unicode international standard for the traditional Mongolian script. |
