Tom Emerson - Basis Technology CorporationTom Emerson is a Sr. Software Engineer in the Computational Linguistics group at Basis Technology. He primarily develops lexical analysis software for the CJK languages, and is also involved in lexicographic and corpus linguistics projects. Prior to joining Basis Technology, Mr. Emerson developed software for Spyglass Inc.'s Device Mosaic web browser, and prior to that conducted research and development at Apple Computer, Thinking Machines Corp., and Symantec Corporation. He has also worked extensively in the group supporting Gwydion Dylan and is an inveterate enthusiast of languages for both humans and computers. |
