Markus Scherer - Unicode Technology Group of IBM in Cupertino, CAMarkus Scherer is a software engineer and Unicode expert and works in IBM's Unicode Technology Group in Cupertino, California. He is currently working on the International Components for Unicode (ICU), an open source Unicode library. Before that, he worked on IBM projects for wireless and mobile computing, including GUIs, translation, and internationalization, in his native Germany and in North Carolina.
