The Win32 operating system was one of the world's first to make Unicode its
primary character set. Integrated completely into Windows NT/2000/CE and half-
heartedly into Windows 95/98/Me, Unicode has had a profound influence on these
operating systems and on programs designed to run there. In this workshop, we
examine how Unicode has affected these systems by looking at the Win32 character
set and programming models from a technical point of view. The goal is to show
how to use Unicode to best advantage in implementing Win32-based client and web-
based applications.
