Creating Bidi X/HTML PagesRichard Ishida - W3C
This short tutorial explains how to go about creating XHTML and HTML pages containing text written in the Arabic or Hebrew scripts. The tutorial examines how best to achieve the correct effect for these bidirectional scripts using appropriate markup, CSS properties and Unicode code points or entities. It covers the basics, and goes beyond to provide recommended techniques for some of the tricky situations that even native speakers can struggle with. The tutorial assumes a basic familiarity with the bidirectional characteristics of Arabic and Hebrew, as well as HTML and CSS. |
