This September, the 26th Internationalization & Unicode Conference (IUC26), the premier technical conference worldwide for both software and Web internationalization, in cooperation with Transdex, a forum for GILT industry topics, will host an exhibition area in common. Global Meeting Services, The Unicode Consortium, ACCTI, CSN,GALA, and TILP invite you to exhibit in the IUC26 Showcase, September 8-10, 2004, in San Jose, CA. The leading localization industry organizations, ACCTI, CSN, GALA, and TILP formed Transdex to offer presentations, classes, and plenary sessions on GILT topics. Transdex is the first industry event to bring the resources of these organizations together under one roof. Each IUC conference covers a wide range of Unicode and internationalization topics, while exploring certain topics in greater depth. The theme for IUC26 is "Unicode and Internationalization: Best Practices in the Networked World". Attendees of either Transdex or IUC26 can participate in both events and includes attendance at the SHOWCASE, creating a significant value. Exhibitors will benefit from the opportunities to meet industry decision-makers and end-users from around the world, that require software and Web globalization solutions. With a limited number of booth spaces and sponsorships available, you don't want to miss the opportunity to participate in the SHOWCASE. A popular IUC26 feature is the Exhibitors Panel, designed to meet the needs of attendees that are looking for solutions and services providers. A limited number of slots are available and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registered exhibiting organizations have the opportunity to participate in the panel forum and give a brief technical presentation describing their distinguishing characteristics and their key challenges and innovations from a product and services perspective. Attendees learn about exhibitors in several ways: • The Exhibitors Track will be clearly identified on the conference brochure and agenda. • A web page on the conference web site will be devoted to the Exhibitors Track and will identify the speakers and their topics alongside corporate logos and links to their web sites. • Exhibitors are asked to contribute two items prior to the event, which become part of the pool of door prizes given to SHOWCASE attendees during the conference. • Exhibitors may provide brochures or flyers in advance of the conference, to be given to attendees upon arrival. SPONSORSHIPS Recognition will be given to exhibitors who also choose to sponsor any of the following conference areas or activities: luncheons, coffee breaks, Dinner Event, Internet kiosk, evaluation collections. ATTENDEES The Unicode conference is a preferred venue for those involved in either the development and deployment of Unicode software, or the globalization of software and the Internet. They include managers, software engineers, systems analysts, font designers, graphic designers, content developers, Web designers, Web administrators, technical writers, and product marketing personnel. Transdex will be of interest to all those involved in purchasing GILT services or products, including localization managers, business managers, product managers and projects managers. THE CONFERENCE The conference features tutorials, lectures, and panel discussions that provide coverage of standards, best practices, and recent advances in the globalization of software and the Internet. Table top displays will be set up for your usage. You may supply your own backdrops, portable booths or any materials that you deem necessary to enhance your display. Exhibitors are responsible for all material handling to and from the Conference and any costs thereof. Conference entry is not included in this fee. Exhibit personnel listed as attendants or managers will be eligible for a discounted entry fee of 20% off the member conference registration package they wish to attend. CONFERENCE VENUE The Conference will take place at the: LOCATION The Hotel is located between Hwy. 101 and San Jose International Airport, in the heart of the Silicon Valley. It is 45 minutes south of San Francisco and one hour north of Monterey and Carmel. Downtown San Jose is within a five minute drive or light rail ride. Complimentary shuttle service is available from San Jose International Airport. ACCOMMODATION A guest room block has been set aside for the Conference. The Conference rates are: $119.00 single/double room per night, Plus applicable hotel tax. To receive these special rates, you must reserve your room together with your conference registration through Global Meeting Services, Inc. See form attached to conference registration form. Hotel reservations should be made prior to August 16, 2004. Thereafter, this special rate will be offered on a rate and space available basis only. CANCELLATION POLICY Any individual cancellations within 72 hours from the date of arrival will be billed for (1) night room and tax. TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS Conference attendees are to make their own travel arrangements.
