Two nosy questions about Unicode's Basic Arabic Presentation Forms:
1. Why didn't ISO-10646-1 follow the Unicode 1.0 order
INITIAL-MEDIAL-FINAL but changed it to today's
FINAL-INITIAL-MEDIAL? Page D-3 gives no reason.
2. Why are U+FE73 and U+FE75 undefined instead of holding tatweeled
ARABIC DAMMATAN MEDIAL FORM and ARABIC KASRATAN MEDIAL FORM
following the logic of the surroundings?
And further:
3. Why does http://www.unicode.org/unicode/alloc/Pipeline.html say
that "Supplemental Arabic for Uighur, Kazakh, and Kirghiz" was
rejected in 1996 without saying why?
4. Will there ever be "glyph characters" for Unicode rendering
(Extended Arabic, Indic, ...) in Plane +04, +11, or so?
Thanks
Roman
