Hi list,
The theoretical WCode has some good points, although I can't say that
all of them are possible, but many of them would be good.
"WCode contains US-ASCII and C1 controls as direct subsets, but not
most of ISO 8859-1. (Unicode: contains all of them as
direct subsets
All scripts are encoded in logical order. (Unicode: Thai and Lao are
not encoded in logical order) "
This one I'm not sure if this is possible. Some languages will order
the same characters differently.
Also, how to sort English properly? Should it be ordered like
"aAbBcCdD..."? Thats the only way to sort it binarywise in a natural
order, which immediately means it's not ASCII anymore. That's one
glaring contradiction.
All in all though, it's a nice group of ideas, at least for something
to learn from even if not a final solution.
