(excuse my bad english with german accent)
Dear Donald, dear Gregg, dear list,
i am very proud to announce that a research project at the
Fachhochschule Mainz,
Germany, department of Design, is working on a unicode-wiki since
january 2004.
Next week, we will start the beta-test with all the characters of the
BMP 4.0.1
(sorry, we will add 4.1 later).
There will be a full-text-search for character names, properties, etc.
Each character of the BMP will be displayed as a gif in three different
sizes
(for those people who don't have all the fonts installed).
For each and every character, there will be the possibility to add
information
(texts and photos) in wikis of:
history : spreading : meaning : typography : similarity :
discussion : all
Every character has a story -- and we will start to collect them.

I am very proud to start the beta-test and present the project as the
keynote
to IUC27 in Berlin on next thursday!
