Mark, Philippe, Steven,
it happens indeed to be a bug in the survey tool. I am going to fill a bug report.
The tool puts the changes proposed to 'CUR' into 'CUR/displayName'. Corrections intended to clear the error messages stay hence hidden or misunderstood if one sorts by 'Priority'.
Moreover, the examples next to 'CUR/displayName' refer to another currency e.g. 'SEK' in the example for 'ESA' in the German locale.
Best regards
Walter

Mark,
slight mistake in my e-mail. Please read "'displayName'still absent for AFN" in 3rd sentence. Also choose a monospaced font for reading the e-mail.

Mark,
thank you, your answer allows to proceed.
There seems a slight inconsistency in the tool.
3 cases are (and were) possible, now all 3 present for currency AFA, 'symbol' still absent for AFN:
'CUR', 'CUR/symbol' and 'CUR/displayName'. See Afghani (with all buttons and messages) pasted from tool and edited to have the same appearance in flat text:

Looking at the first currency page as displayed in German, sorted by ISO code, there are very few occurrences of 'CUR/displayName', they are all linked to a radio button 'confirm-proposed-45-1. 'CUR' and 'CUR/symbol' are surrounded
by a narrow rectangular frame, whereas 'CUR/displayName' is not.
I am going to proceed assuming that, when either the translation under 'CUR' or under 'CUR/displayName' is correct, I am just to 'confirm' it and leave the other alone.
Another improvement versus yesterday is that today, when following the 'Help' link at least, the currency displayed
is the same as the one where the link is situated.
Probably yesterday I looked by 'Priority' order and this also may explain my understanding difficulties and the problem with the 'Help' link.
I suggest that the random number used for the example be always negative, as I understand the example as a mean to verify the full format.
Best regards
Walter

Walter did not ask anything about AFA/symbol, but about AFA/displayName and how it differs from AFA (alone).
