This is certainly not my experience. I downloaded, for instance,
chapter 4 and then I type:
% lpr unicode-chap4.pdf
and no error message and the text appears on paper outside of the
printer.
(It is also possible that lpr ignores the stupid bit "Printing
disallowed". Like every DRM, it is crap, but it is a different story.)
