    Thanks, Mark.

If my memory serves me well, you have seen the annotated version of my statement. (Thanks for your contribution!)

If somebody else would like to receive that, please send me a private note.

    Thanks, Erkki.

I tried following your instructions on http://www.dglf.culture.gouv.fr/, but didn't find "La langue française dans son rapport avec les autres" with a search on the page. I finally realized that they used an image (uggh - not good for accessibility) for those words.

    The direct link is: http://www.dglf.culture.gouv.fr/publications/multilinguisme/etats-generaux_Multilinguisme.zip

    Dear All,

The proceedings of "États généraux du multilinguisme", the main conference of the European Day of the Languages held at Sorbonne on 26 September 2008 are finally available. Each speech or statement has been published in its original language and also translated into German, English and French, as required.
Some of you may be interested in the statement that I had been asked to make on how ICT standardization supports multilingualism. In the short statement I brought up the European general and telecommunications standards organizations (CEN and ETSI), the worldwide ISO and the Unicode Consortium (both UTC and CLDRTC). An annotated version of the statement was also submitted to selected commissioners.

The statement was made in Finnish, and it is available on pp. 97-99 in the "versions originales" publication and on pp. 191-196 in the "traductions" publication.

The electronic version (PDF) of the proceedings can be downloaded from www.dglf.culture.gouv.fr

, under "Publications", "La langue française dans son rapport avec les autres", and, finally, "Multilinguisme".
The printed version (ISSN: 1955-2890) can be ordered by e-mail from dglflf@coulture.gouv.fr.

    Sincerely,
    Erkki I. Kolehmainen
