Session Host
Jérémie Hornus

Jérémie Hornus is a type designer, font engineer, and founder of U+TYPE, a new home for a practice he has been developing for more than twenty years. Equally at ease drawing letterforms and building the tools behind them, he combines a creative outlook with a scientific mind. Previously, he led Black[Foundry] for over a decade, coordinating international teams on large multiscript projects for Google, Instagram, LEGO, Renault, and Aramco, including CJK and Arabic. His MA in Typeface Design focused on the Ethiopic writing system; the resulting typeface now ships with Apple devices. Curious by nature, Jérémie remains fascinated by writing systems, their histories and connections, and the dialogue between art, technology, and science.
