Subject: converting unicode (UTF-8)

I received a doc that I am attempting to convert to United States
English. However, the doc was written in Word 2000 and when I attempt
to open the doc up I get a dialog box with UNICODE (UTF-8) highlighted.

My question is, how do I convert this so I may read the doc?
