Dear FRIEND,
Hello!!
I am Prakash Vaithyanathan, a Science Teacher from India. I propose a unique
symbol for friendship with a meaningful ( I hope) interpretation. The
proposed symbol is given below and the interpretation follows:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
A NEW SYMBOL FOR FRIENDSHIP
There are countless symbols available for every feeling. In particular for
"Friendship" there are so many symbols. I made an attempt to come up with an
unique symbol for friendship or in general, equivalent to the phrase, "Let
us be friends".

Please see the attachment for the the symbol and the interpretation
follows:
The first character of the word "friend" i.e, f is written in a tilted
form. The horizontal line indicates that a friend is with you always. The
line rising above from the horizontal line, on the right represents the rise
in life. During the rise in life, people become blind in the sense that they
attempt to cross the limits of their actions and a friend is there to advise
us. That explains the concave down cup above the horizontal line in the
figure. Likewise the line sloping down from the horizontal line, on the
left, represents a downfall in life. That's when a friend is there to
support us and raise up. That explains the concave up cup below the
horizontal line in the figure. A friend switches positions during good times
and bad times to save us.
Notes: I am Prakash Vaithyanathan, a Teacher from India. If you have
comments about the friendship icon, please write to me:

As you can see, this isn't the swastik symbol. I have ensured that my
actions do not hurt anyone. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I have posted this info at this site for a simple go through:
