Tamil and Unicode

Dear Friends,

I am new to this list and don't know if I am repeating a question that has
already been there ten times or not.

I am interested in XML and Tamil and wonder if it is possible to use a
Tamil Unicode font for XML. I know that Tamil is already part of Unicode,
but how can I use it in an XML document? How do I specify the XML
declaration for the endcoding:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="???"?>

Any help and suggestions regarding Tamil and Unicode and XML are welcome
and highly appreciated.
