There are:

The majority of the original wave of Han colonists onto
the island of Taiwan were Min Nan speakers from Fujian
province, which accounts for why Taiwanhua is a variant
of Min Nan.
Min Nan, along with other southern coastal Chinese dialects
(e.g. Cantonese) also figured widely in Chinese diaspora
communities into Southeast Asia.
