Wordprocessors in Korean

Please forgive me if off-topic in this list:

In order to make use of our university's LAN net
I have installed win2000 on all PCs in our institute
and then, to enable all users to read and write texts
in their native (oriental) languages (from Arabic to Japanese)
I have provided them with MS Office 2000.

Now a teacher from Korea told me, MS Word has
some shortcomings concerning Korean
and there would exist another word-
processor much more frequently used than Word2000
in his country. (He also complained about win2000 "their
are better choices for multilanguage apps and the net",
but that is another story not to be discussed here).

Since there are many readers on the lsit who certainly know
about Korea, can you comment on this?

TIA

Kay Genenz
